A Royal Stay at Casa Domneasca! My recent stay at Casa Domneasca in Curtea de Argeș was nothing short of exceptional, truly deserving of a five-star rating! From the moment I arrived, I was enchanted by the hotel's charm and the palpable sense of history that permeates every corner. The location is absolutely perfect – nestled right in the heart of Curtea de Argeș, it's just a stone's throw away from the magnificent Curtea de Argeș Monastery and other historical landmarks. Exploring the town on foot was a delight, and returning to the peaceful ambiance of Casa Domneasca after a day of sightseeing was always a pleasure. The rooms are beautifully appointed, blending traditional elegance with modern comforts seamlessly. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered a wonderful view. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The attention to detail, from the high-quality linens to the well-stocked amenities, truly made me feel pampered. What truly sets Casa Domneasca apart, however, is the outstanding service. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Had a one night stay here after driving through the Transfagarsan Highway.|Room was 'okay', technically it had a mini fridge but it contained 3 bottles of water that had frozen solid, a price list and nothing else. One of the bedside lamps was broken and several of the sockets didn't work properly. We had a balcony but we couldn't use it as it was a shared balcony with the room next door and the two people in that room were chain smokers who took up the entire balcony space for the entire evening. Our room also had two windows facing directly onto the balcony meaning we had zero privacy due to the neighbours having a direct view into our room. The Aircon was not very good meaning we were stuck in a hot room unable to open the door or window due to the shared space.|The bed was uncomfortable.|We decided to eat at the hotel which was a poor decision. We had been in Romania for two weeks at this point and all the food had been great, but not here. My husband had beef stroganoff which was stringy and chewy. I had pasta - which tasted suspiciously like a supermarket branded pasta bake. I definitely would not recommend eating here.|Breakfast was absolutely appalling. Practically zero choice, none of which looked appealing.|We left without eating and visited the bakery at the nearby Lidl instead.|Although the hotel is clean and looks pretty from the outside I would not recommend staying here.

The room we had was clean and quiet. We ate here and the meal was very good. My wife and I both had salmon options and they were very well cooked and presented. Breakfast left a lot to be desired with a lack of choice and only warm water for tea. We both ordered boiled eggs which were hardly cooked and were inedible.

We only had dinner here. The complex is very well placed in a quiet area, on a hill, with a beautiful view across the surroundings. It has many parking places and a nice garden which is well taken care of. The food and services were also of great value at reasonable prices. We were very happy with our choice.

The wifi in our room didn't work. Breakfast was terrible. The mattress on the bed was very old and so uncomfortable. We rolled together all night and couldn't sleep. Can honestly say I had the worst sleep in any hotel I have ever stayed in. Noisy air con. Had to switch it off to get to sleep then had to put it on again as I was so hot. Bathroom wasn't very clean despite there being banners with sanitised written all over them. Very disappointed in this hotel. Staff weren't friendly either. On the good side the garden grounds were lovely and from the outside the hotel looked the part. Set in a quiet side street (apart from the barking dogs from a neighbouring house). Wouldn't return or recommend, sorry.

The hotel is very nice and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. Nice view from the room, we watched the sun set sitting on the balcony, drinking a beer from the well stocked mini bar. |However the bed was very uncomfortable, the frame squeaked and the mattress was lumpy and old. We did not have a good nights sleep, which prevented the hotel getting the 5 stars. |

We booked this hotel about 20 minutes before arriving. The guy on reception was very accommodating, and seemed to do everything in the hotel. The room was basic, but very clean and comfortable with a nice balcony.||We had dinner in the hotel which was really perfect. Very well cooked and well portioned.||Unfortunately, breakfast was a disaster. It was so bad, that they really shouldn't have bothered, because it was the only thing that let the hotel down. Grab breakfast somewhere else and the hotel becomes perfect!

We stayed for several days while exploring around Curtea De Arges... this place is an absolute gem! We loved the staff, who were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The breakfasts were just perfect, and we were able to walk everywhere downtown. We plan on returning when we return to discover more of the amazing country of Romania.
