Taj Indian Cuisine

The food was delicious! Friendly women that served me, she said her english was little but she could help me perfectly. The entrence looks very simple but behind is a nice area, it was surprisingly empty though, therefore 4 stars. The service could be improved by offering bank payments, i had to get cash nextdoor, that is a hazzle when you are not in the country for long.

The sauces are great and full of flavor, but the meat is either stringy and dry or tough and weird tasting. The chickpea dish I tried was good but way too oily, as were the onion meatballs. The bread is very good, and that was the only part of my meal I can't complain about. The worst and most dangerous thing about the whole meal was the fact that I found a piece of hard, sharp plastic in one of the dishes.

Thank you to Julia for being the perfect hostess. Serving great food. Yes, they only accept cash, but we had a look at the menu the night before so we knew exactly how much to bring. Julia asked us how spicy we wanted our food so that we would not be surprised - apparently "medium" in Bucharest is "hot" for us Brits. But the perfect curry was delivered. The decor is simple but don't be detracted by this as the food was great

If you ever ate in a restaurant before, that respects their patrons, then stay away of this establishment. The staff is rude and arrogant to their bones. I can only imagine that other good reviews come from people that are used with low standards. Their policy is to work with cash only, so that probably translates to tax avoidance. And lastly, the place needs a general clean-up and makeover, it looks frozen in time, not in the good way. Left side of their entry, there is a smoking area, full of trash around and pee stains on the wall. To avoid, unless you have high tolerance levels.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Bucharest. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I highly recommend trying the Butter Chicken and the Balti Murgh Masala, as they are bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes, always ready to help with recommendations.

Recommended by friends, Taj seems underwhelming at first - until you get to eat. The food is, well, spicy, but good, flavored and delicious. The personnel is nice and helpful, the service is quick (but save some patience as the dishes take around 45 to 60 minutes to arrive) and the overall experience is nice. Price wise, Taj is a little above the average - careful as they accept only cash now. Overall, a good experience worthy of your time.

We called ahead to make sure we get a table on the outside even if it was on a non busy night like monday and they had chosen the coziest one for us. This is the type of place where you have no idea what you're ordering and everything that comes is the best thing you ever had. The food is absolutely amazing, even if the atmosphere might be a bit underwhelming. The staff was super friendly and knew to recommend the best level of spicy for us.
