Apold is a quiet village deep in Transylvania. This was a terrific experience and highly recommend. It’s advised to call ahead and let them know you are coming to the area. The meal prepared was all fresh and delicious. The family was welcoming kind and friendly. We had the meal in a beautiful dinning area with many traditional dishes. Thanks so much and we look forward to our next visit.

Delicious food and a wonderful welcome! I arrived unannounced and was warmly welcomed by the owner, with whom I had a very pleasant conversation while enjoying homemade dishes. One of my best experiences in Romania so far.

We recently moved to Romania and are doing a trip through Transylvania. By chance we stumbled upon this family-run culinary experience. We had a wonderful evening here, enjoying country side food and drinks straight from the land, all delicious and well prepared. Especially the meat that “mama” made was astonishing, a level of quality we haven’t found in a standard restaurant. We met some of the family members and had a great evening chatting about all sorts of things. If you want to experience local culture and cuisine in a safe, clean and pleasant atmosphere we can highly recommend trying this new concept :) We are definitely coming back next time we’re in the area!

We had a lovely meal at the home of the warm hostess: home made goat cheese, sausage, olives and vegetables to start; vegetable soup, pork and delicious braised potatoes; cake and palinka. It was great to see everyday life in a charming village and we had had a wonderful time. Make sure to call a day ahead to reserve!

We discovered the place by chance looking for a restaurant in the area, and little did we know that this was a hidden gem! There is a lovely atmosphere and the hosts are very warm and welcoming. The food is delightful, everything home made and overall a very special experience. The garden is beautiful and full of life. We went in the first day and then we decided to go back with more friends the next day. Totally worth it!

I was here having breakfast two times already. I came back a year after the first time because I liked it so much. They always cooked me something vegetarian per request. Welcoming and lovely people, cute animals. The children speak really good German!
